Same here! I’ve found that switching the Substack home page feed from “Home” to “Following” helps too. I appreciate you sharing the app tug of war experience. The infinite scroll of recommended content always gets me…
It's on both my app and the website, but I can't post a picture in comments. There's a dropdown on the top right of the Home Screen. It's something like, "Home (v)" followed by other buttons with your interests.

Switching from "home" to "following"...is that only a change you can make on the app?
