Article voiceover

Lord, You said I can serve only one master; That there is only one throne in my heart; And yet I have sat many gods on it. I tried money, and it made me poor; People, and it put me in bondage; Things, and it hardened my heart. I even tried sitting in it myself, And sank to my worst desires. My building fell, and great was the fall of it. Forgive me. There is only one throne, and it is Yours; Put an end to my little rebel kingdom, And reign over me, in me, through me, for me. Whatever I need, provide. Whatever weight hinders me, remove it. Whenever I am weak, make me strong. As far as the curse is found, be victorious. If anything is lacking in me, complete it. If ever I doubt Your love, love me still. My God, You love me still. Grateful am I—You love me still. Amen.
The book referenced in the voiceover is You Are What You Love by James K.A. Smith.
Series Introduction
Sabbath Prayers is a series of written prayers that go live on Sundays (or Saturday night). For me, written prayers work like a defibrillator for my heart. Sometimes I need help putting truth into words. I hope these prayers help give you honest words and a true sense of God’s love. They are written for you (and me).
If you've been pilgrimaging with me and enjoying these posts, you may want to leave a small token of appreciation. I’m happy to give these writings free of charge, so there’s no pressure.
Loved the audio on this one, and the poem itself. Bravo, good stuff. Would love to interview you at some point for tonguesafire.com or kingdomsuperpowers.com!
