Runaway
I used to run and hide
From you, with my
Leafy covering and
Catalog of excuses.
It seemed easier to save
Face than believe
That there's saving grace,
For a runaway like me.
But I’ve learned to
Run the other way,
Toward the very light
That exposes me.
For I come to you naked,
And you cleanse me;
You clothe me in new,
blood-bought garments.
And no matter how many times
I run to you,
You never run out.
