I haven’t met you yet
But we could be brothers.
You want to meet at the pub,
Not the bar. And we'll talk
Ideas, not sports. You'll
Tell me how this season
Is getting the best of you
And I'll let you know
You're not alone.
We won't say a dang thing
About the weather but
We'll wear out words like
Etymology, epistemology,
And maybe even entomology,
If that doesn't bug you.
You'll tell me about the
Project you're working on
And I'll be genuinely excited.
I'll share some poetry
And you won't laugh at me.
And maybe that'll be that.
And maybe we won't crack the
Code on world peace but a
Piece of us that hasn't
Found peace in some time
Finds solace and rest.
I have an inkling that we
Could do this again next week.
Cheers.
