When this world is not all that it should be,
And every certainty of ours has failed—
Our questions are suspended in the sea
Between the shores of Visible and Veiled.
In this darkness, we remember the night
Of our Savior, the Lamb, in a manger.
Those trapped in darkness have seen a great Light,
Our anchor holds fast through present danger.
So we press ahead, to advent’s veiled shore,
Where the Lion of Judah, David’s Root,
Fells each enemy in a single roar,
And we partake in the Tree of Life’s fruit.
We light the candle of hope, holding fast;
Suffering for now, and victors at last.
So powerful! I can feel the voyage. . .
This is so beautiful. And so hope-filled. Thank you. Happy Advent.
